Beware the service department

Took my Scion in for a recall. They not only didn't fix the recall item but also failed to fix a tire going flat, yet still charged for it. The free car wash damaged the hubcaps, which they denied, and then the service manager told me I needed new tires to correct the pull problem. He said the tires were out of round. Took the vehicle to Parks Toyota in Deland. They had all the problems fixed in 1 hour and explained in detail what they had done to correct the problems created by Maus Toyota. Never trust Maus Toyota.

Damage

Their service depart is careless and does more damage than fix stuff. Twice I've brought my Toyota there and they've damaged it. The first time I went for an oil change but changed my mind but before I could get back to my Toyota they had already taken it. When they brought it back just a few minutes later it had a huge scratch on the side mirror that wasn't there when I arrived. Having no proof of this I just ate the cost and ordered one online and replaced it myself. This second chance I gave them I went in for a radio repair and this time I took pictures of the dash. I knew with the work that was about to be done if the mechanic wasn't extremely careful he could damage the dash trim. Sure enough when I got the Truck back there was a scratch on a trim piece, I pointed it out to them and even got them to print out a form showing where they owed me that trim piece. They said they'd order it and never got back with me... Geez if they're so greedy to not replace a $12 trim piece they damaged then I can only imagine what else they'll not fix when they damage it. I'm done with David Maus Toyota, my vehicle would be safer in the hands of a drunken Baboon.

YOU LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER TODAY

I bought my daughter a 2010 xb Scion and have always taken it there for all repairs, I have always had good service up front , BUT STAY AWAY FROM THERE BODY SHOP, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT PRICE OR CALLING CUSTOMERS. My Daughter was in a little bumper bender in St Pete were she goes to collage , the next day I was contacted by a shop in st Pete to bring car in for Est. and they would get right on it. I said thanks but I would have my daughter come home so we could take to our dealer. Called made arrangements had her drive 3 hours only to be given the wrong amount the first time as I looked over Est. because I was not sure I wanted to file claim against ins. After getting things straighten out [ very poor communication not like up front] I made an appointment to bring car back another trip, a week later I find out after they do repair it will have to come back to have clear bug shield put on, paint has to cure I understand this. I NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED GETTING ANOTHER EST BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TREATED WELL UP FRONT, from buying the car to service a very satisfied customer who had no doubt I would buy again from them. But after this experience not so sure, my daughter back in to a garbage can on the way home to have car repaired. I asked them to give me a price and it would be out of pocket because no way was I going to use Ins again. The price was as much as the wreck which seem odd so I told them to sit tight, I sent photos to anther body shop and was given a over the phone est for both jobs less than they were going to do the original repair, I called Ricky back and asked him could he work with me at all and explained the Est. I got and I WAS TOLD NO HE WOULD NOT EVEN CHK WITH MANAGER , I explained the way I felt but he would not budge. I offered to pay cash for second repair just needed him to discount it at least what other shops est. was told him I would pay the higher price on original repair .Was not happening if it would not have been such a hassle to call ins rebook est. with shop in st Pete I would have yanked car out of there and I am sorry I did not, when I picked car up they had the nerve to try and explain it even after the casher apologized and said we are a little more because we are dealer ship, Then Ricky's Boss had the nerve to ask me if I wanted him to cut a ck to other body shop to finish there work and then offered a $50.00 discount on second repair like I would step foot in there again, funny thing I Bet I have seen David Maus commercials saying we wont be out priced. Again I never considered taking this car any where else well guess what Ed and Ricky I will now and instead of bragging about David Maus Toyota and Chevy my truck I will be signing a different tune what a shame, Like I said I HAVE HAD GREAT SERVICE FROM THERE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Momma needs a new car I guess it want come from there dealer ship, And in there explanation well we warranty our repairs WHOW , And we take bumper off to repair your kidding that's the way most people do it. O and the best one well its not our fault your daughter goes to school at USF, Never expected them to do repair for free just treat a loyal customer right. I found out they don't care. Thanks Mark Beware things have changed at David Maus Toyota

Lied to us about our credit score

My wife and I have now leased three different cars from David Maus Volkswagen in Orlando. The last time we went to lease a vehicle they lied and said that my wife's credit wasn't great therefore the payment was going to be much higher so I asked to see the score and it was 747 and they had said that it was in the 600 range. Ultimately, we still got the price that we originally wanted but I can't believe that they lie and try to cheat loyal customers. We will never purchase or lease another car from them in the future.

Sold me a warrenty that ran out in 3 years time, didn't tell me it was already on warrenty?!!

April 7, 2014 David Maus Jr.Toyota Service Department. ManagerKen (Service Department) Forward to all that apply, please. To: David Maus Sr., My name is Mrs. D Kelly. First of all, I would like to state I thought VERY highly of Toyota before my recent findings. I purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry from you inJune 2010. At that time, I also purchased—what I thought was— an extended warranty (bumper to bumper), for 100,000 miles. As of February 2013, I was informed my warranty has run out, after only 3 years!!!? And was advised I no longer have COVERAGE!!! Mr. Maus please advise, why I was not told at the time of purchase? there was already an existing warranty on the Vehicle? I paid extra monies for a warranty for nothing!! I feel very betrayed, and have been exposed to what I feel an act of disloyalty. I am very disappointed in David Maus Toyota. I feel David Maus Toyota has Razzed me.Now to add insult to injury, I brought my car into the service department for a recent oil changeJanuary 2014 (I believe), and did not receive good service. I asked Ken in the service department to ask the mechanic on duty to check my A/C blower. They did check the A/C and I was told by Ken that the blower had burned out and needed replacement! Yet the next day my blower started to work just fine, and has since then. This is yet another lie, and an almost out of pocket expense for me!! What I've discovered as of today: Thursday March 13, 2014, is that I’ve had to replace my battery (dead cells). The washer fluid has not been topped off, the radiator reservoir is half empty, and the power steering fluid is half empty. I’ve even questioned if my oil was even changed! I might as well have it changed at a drive through service like Jiffy Lube! What happened to a 10 or 15 point check up? Mechanics did not do their job correctly!!! I actually took pictures in disbelief Mr. Maus :(Remember I was just in your service department recently. Overall, I feel there was a miscommunication on behalf of your company. This only exacerbated my problem. I am saying mine because I'm the loser here. I do wish that the closing employee would have told me, and I quote: "Do not waste the money you really don’t have". Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. I am infuriated; you have taught me a lot... My next car will NOT be a Toyota. Best Regards, Mrs. Dian Kelly U.S.

Anonymous is right. You do have a very low IQ.

Well, Dian Kelly, if you had half a brain in that head of yours you would know that it's not Toyota's fault you didn't do your homework. All new cars come with a one year or longer warranty. In your case, you bought a used car and expected new car quality. Duh!

The dealership sold you their own warranty and it does run out after so many years. It's either 100k or 3 years, which ever comes first, you ditz.

It's not a lifetime warranty and it limits what kind of repairs are covered. I really hope you respond because I just want to take the opportunity to tell you again what an i d i o t you really are.

David Maus is the worst shop I've ever dealt with. I could go on about all the problems we had there. And I see all these ôther complaints and they should be held accountable. I think a class action lawsuit is what it's gonna take. If anyone is interested in being part of this leave your info. Or you can reach me at jdsavannahdunn@***.com. thanks:) these guys are a crooks and think they can get away with it.

Wow im reading all this negative comment on David maus toyota. I was going to buy a car from them. But im changing my mind.

Guest

David. Maus Toyota should be sued for lying on their commercials, my check engine light came on in my 2003 corolla which I purchased from Magic Toyota before David maus bought them out.

I have been getting my car serviced with them for years and every time it have been overcharged and always something fails after they service it, they were supposed to honor the free tires for life but never did. I took my car in for the check engine light which they wanted to charge me $79.00 to do what discount auto parts does for free. They found nothing, they didn't even reset the light and the smoke test after leaving the first time I went to full my car up I couldn't get the pump handle in the tank and had to drizzle the gas in. I took it back and said to the girl waiting me that I could fill my car up before you worked on it, she continued to treat me like I was trying to steal something from her and after sitting in the waiting room for two hours, I tracked her down and she laughed off that they left the blocker in my tank.

Never will I go back! Over priced!

Poor Customer Service Regarding Warranty Work

Updated by user Dec 13, 2013

It's now Dec 13th and still fighting over the tire warranty. The dealership wants nothing to do w it and finally after working closely w Michelin they've decided we can go to a certified dealer instead of the haggle w the dealership.

The tires are at 50% wear evenly and Michelin being who they are stood up and said we have a warranty for x yrs or miles and you guys will be taken care of.

So going to the shop we use for all our other vehicles tire needs to get it taken care of.

I pray nothing else goes wrong w this truck. Because warranty and customer satisfaction is not in David Maus business model.

Original review Nov 12, 2013
Took in our 2011 Toyota Tundra to the dealer David Maus Toyota in Orlando to have them look over the left strut (covered in oil), the front tire wear (which we attribute to the front strut issue) and a few other leaks that a vehicle w 27k miles on it just should not have. In addition to this being the 2nd time we've taken it in to please check the transmission as it makes a very bad knocking sound when sitting in traffic and then doesn't know what gear to be in. Last trip they drove it 2.7 miles and said that nothing was wrong.... :sigh: They have done all the service on the vehicle up till 20k miles, truck was bought from them. This time we drop the truck off tell them our concerns we have a claim in w Michelin as the tire wear is concerning. The service writer tells us that's not their problem. We tell him we have a claim and that Michelin requires a dealer to review the tires for warranty issues and if they would please do that since the truck was bought from them and serviced by them. Then we try and discuss the strut and the oil leak, dif leak etc.. They guy just didn't want to hear about warranty work.. We even have the extended warranty for cripes sake. Take the time to listen to us PLEASE! We walk into the little office and he starts writing it up. Prints it out and leaves off half the things we asked him to have the techs go over.. By this point I'm so mad I want to scream. No wonder nothing gets fixed here they won't put it in the system to have a trace of them ever being wrong or it being submitted. HOW SHADY! I asked the service write (Jeremy) to please for the customer satisfaction would he please re-do the write up and put in what we asked him to. My better half asked the same and he still wouldn't print it out and had my spouse sign the one he printed.. Saying he'd update the system... We told them to keep the truck as long as is needed to recreate the problem, fix the warranty issues etc. Not drive it around the dealership then park it and tell us nothing is wrong... We are so dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism we want to get rid of the new truck we have. How sad is that.. A truck w only 27k miles and you want rid of it? David Maus your service writers are all about not taking care of the customer's who pay good money for their trucks, warranties and time to come see you.. Shame.... If they come back and say nothing is wrong we've already priced out the repair w a local shop that would not touch the truck since it's under warranty.. They told us to make sure they repair the vehicle since it's so new and low on miles and within warranty..

It took to commenting on their FB page to get any response or assistance.. The media department was able to get the service department to call us back about the warranty items we'd requested review of.

The replaced the strut and the drive shaft (the knocking) the tech did not do an alignment after the strut replacement so when we picked up the truck it went right back and they had it another 2 days before getting it right. It finally took the Lead Mech on duty going on 2 test rides to confirm the alignment guy hadn't done his job..

We wasted hours, tolls and miles trying to get the Tundra taken care of. I truly hope we never have anymore warranty issues if this is how their service is going to be every time.

Still not happy....

Toyota Sienna Van Owner no service

Today 8-12-13 my wife and self arrived at DMT 11.30 am We were directed there by the Toyota Mobility website to discuss options for our Toyota Braun Rampvan. With only 4 cars in the service area we waited for 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the valet. We wanted to see a service adviser to discuss passenger side seat options. The valet called 3 times for a service adviser, and indicated there were 4 on staff. Finally at 12.10pm I left the vehicle with no other cars in the bay, and went inside to speak to SA Jim Smith, no other SA were in sight. I asked if he was a adviser for Toyota Mobility also. He indicated he was not, and not one person in the facility could address our questions, and that they farm out work to Melbourne FL. When I asked if I wanted to buy a new van not one salesperson was qualified as a representative for Toyota Mobility Products. After 45 minutes and 2 minutes with the SA we drove off.

Poor Service in the Service Dept.

Literally just left the service dept at David Maus Toyota out of pure frustration from a simple lack of communication by anyone in the service dept. I arrived 10 minutes ahead of my appointment for a simple freakin oil change. Mind you I had to leave work to do this and drive 20 minutes to David Maus because it is the closest location for my 4Runner. I pull in they take my name and I sit there for 35 minutes to have someone come out and ask dropping off or staying. I clearly said when scheduling my appt. I would be staying. The individual after the 35 minutes comes out and tells me there will be a two hour wait???? How the *** is that possible???? Why didn't someone at least communicate that to me 10 minutes into waiting. What freakin joke.

Are you kidding

We took our 2004 Toyota 4-runner to the service department to have the breaks inspected. They informed us that the front brakes need to be replaced and the rotors needed to be turned. They also informed us that the CV Joint was cracked and needed to be replaced. We got the car back drove it home and the next morning my wife had to fly out to Denver and the car would back up a little and the wheel would lock. We noticed a bold on the running board and when we got over to the Toyota place they informed us that they had left a bolt off the Caliper. I showed them the bolt that I found and they said that it was not the same bolt. We got the car back and left for North Carolina and the car was making a funny noise. We called David Moss and they said it was not a big deal just bring it back by when we got back into Florida. We ended up taking it to another Toyota dealership in hickory NC we were told that the rear lower control arm shackles were bent over and rubbing the rear control arm.I spent six hours trying to get someone from David Moss to call me. All this took place on my Birthday. They finally got the car repaired and I had to pay for it out of my pocket. My Birthday was a total bust and my party in Charlotte had to be canceled. I was told to bring my bills and they would reimburse me. How can you pay me for a missed party and several hours of waiting.

Whatever it takes Ya Sure

After haggling about an hour and we were $300.00 apart in my offer on a 2012 Toyota Camry it was a standoff and I was told no deal "whatever it takes what a lie" two thumbs to me. I had purchased 2 Toyotas previously from David Maus, so goes customer loyalty what a joke I went to St.Augustine Toyota and saved $1,300 there with out all the haggling. It goes to prove spend a lot of money advertising and screw every client that comes in, you pay for the TV ads trying to *** you there are better dealers. Glenn Iverson

Harrassing calls

in early May my daughter and I went to David Maus Volkswagen on Lee Road in Orlando to look at used vehicles. though we found nothing on the lot she was interested in, the salesman requested her contact information in case they came across a vehicle meeting her needs. she purchase a truck within the week elsewhere... but since that day in May we have received 3 to 4 PHONE CALLS A WEEK asking if she's still in the market for a vehicle! we say NO, please take us off the call list, they apologize, then a few days later CALL AGAIN. we are beyond pissed at their unprofessional behaviour which after 3 months is now bordering on harrassment. if you go to ANY of their lots to look at cars, do NOT give them your contact information unless you want to be another victim of repeated and unwanted phone calls! my daughter was in tears when they called again tonight... i myself have heard her ask at least 4 times for them to stop calling but they do not! AVOID their harrassment and go elsewhere.

What a poor custumer service

I moved here a few months ago My new cars needed service and took them here. Made appt. and when I got there they told us they were busy, waited almost 1 hr and after I asked and was informed they had forgotten us. At all other dealers they vaccum and clean you cars, here they only wash it outside and when I asked about vaccum the man was rude and said it would cost me over $20.00 if he did that. will not come back here again. We change cars every 3 years but we will not buy our new ones here nor have them serviced again.

Chipped my windshield, left floormats soaking wet.

I made an appointment for a simple car wash. The man who scheduled the appointment said there were no other appointments scheduled for that day. I made the appointment for 10:00am. When I got there, I was told they were "busy" and it would take at least an hour and a half. I waited. When I got home, I realized that the floor mats were soaking wet. I mean SOAKING. Then I saw that the windshield was chipped!!! I called and was told that all service supervisors were in a meeting and couldn't take my call. I will NEVER go back there.
