David Maus Toyota Rear Window Tint
Bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla S from David Maus Toyota on 4-11-10 during the day. It was equipped with window tinting. When I drive at night there is such a reflection in the window tinting along the rear defrost lines that it is dangerously distracting. I have sent them pictures, but they are insisting that I come to their facility at 8:15 p.m. so that their people can drive the car to see what is happening. Even with pictures, it seems they do not believe me. The window tinting cost me $199.99 and was itemized in the sale price of the car, so it was not thrown in - I paid for it. I have been talking with them for 6 days now and am going out there tonight (4-19-10). It is a major inconvenience. The manager, Randy Wolcott, told me last Friday that he would have someone take one off the lot and drive it to see what happens, but disappointingly, he did not do that. So now I am being inconvenienced by having to bring it in when my home is a good 50 miles from their dealership. It would make more sense if they would bring me a rental and just take the car back and check it out. I will keep you all informed as to what happens. I cannot drive it at night with this distraction, and when I do drive, it is very dangerous when I want to change lanes, as it is hard to determine if a lane is empty or not due to all the reflection.

Turned away
David Maus does not do what he says on TV that he will not turn away anyone. I tried to trade in my 2009 Tacoma for a 2010 prius and did I ever get shafted. Noone wanted to deal with me. Said my Tacoma was only worth 13000 top trade. This is the end of the year and the new 2011 vehicles are coming out. Tried to take it off their hands but the pmt. they wanted was way over the limit. My truck did not mean anything to them. We have bought 3 Toyota's from David Maus and have always left happy but not this time. Noone wanted to deal. The mgr. came out and shook my hand and told me to have a good day, they could not deal with me. You would think they would like to clear the 2010 inventory. I work hard to make my truck pmts. I don't think I want to deal with David Maus anymore.

David Maus Toyota Bad dangerous service
Had my services done on Tuesday 29 June 2010 After my service I drove the truck home with the windows up and parked it. I did not drive it again until Thursday morning where I discovered that ALL OF THE LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE!! I heard a noise while applying the breaks and when I checked the lug nuts they were all loose!! ON EVERY TIRE!! I find this very dangerous.I WIll go to this dealers shop one more time to make sure that there has been no damage to the rims or lug nuts after that I will never never never go back to thier shop again!! THOSE PEOPLE COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEREBY SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!!

Up until this point I have never had a good car shopping experience, until I went to this dealership. I know what you're thinking... Who the heck is this guy, writing a positive review online... nobody does that these days... But seriously, the experience was so great, I'm taking the time to write a positive letter. They gave us a great price, high value on our trade, and executed the deal flawlessly. I generally don't think of car salesmen very highly (sorry guys), but these guys are great. Go see Mike and Wes. They will take care of you.

Unprofessional treatment
On sunday 8/8/10 I visited David Maus toyota and was treated unworthly of buying a car. The first thing Chris Harris did was run my wife's and my credit. After he could not get a bank we were rushed out and did not even get to look at the new cars we were looking for. He told us that it ststring to rain and we can drive our car to look at the car we were looking to purchase. He then told us to call him after 2pm monday if you want business you contact the consumer.

Smells so bad you'd think a body was rotting in the trunk!
For more than two years, I have been dealing with a nasty rotten smell in my Yaris everytime I use the air-conditioning. It has been serviced no less than twenty times( which I appreciate the dedication) but with no lasting results. The only thing I won't allow them to do is use some sort of perfume or scented insert since I suffer from migraines brought on by perfume. It's not only embarrasing to have passengers in my car literally hold their noses, but I live in Florida and deliberately seek out good cars with excellent air-conditioning. I've been told everything by David Maus service dept from: "since you park outside you're getting mold from moisture and humidity" - to - "it's the glue the manufacturer used the year your car was built and nothing can be done about that. Well? Which is it? And if it is the manufacturer's doing, do they really think consumers wouldn't notice? I bought this car and have been financing with the intention of gifting it to my daughter for her first car. She will be driving in two months and I am disappointed to give her a stinky car. Toyota is unwilling to do anything other than to keep taking it in and handing it back with no permanent fix. I guess it's no surprise that their reputation has been steadily sinking for the last few years. I, for one, will never buy a Toyota again and will tell everyone I know of my experience when they're in the market for a new car.

DAVID MAUS = *** ARTISTS
David Maus' Toyota sales manager has to be on crack for wanting a person to pay 567/month with $4000.00 down for a pre-owned 2009 Rav4 priced @ $22,687 with 20k miles on it. Was I awake when he made was insisting on this or did I miss something? He had to be on crack this day? I'm enjoying my new 2010 BMW M3 for 412.88 & NOTHING DOWN!!! Thanks David Maus, I thought I couldn't afford a BMW until your sales mgr. made his ridiculous offer then, I went & found out I could. I am One Happy Orlandoan LOL

Caught in a Lie to my face
In November, 2009 David Maus replaced 2 valve cover gaskets, front & rear. The rear started leaking oil in January 2010 and we tried to make an appt. but unable to due to the volumn of recalls. We went to a different shop and the certified Toyota mechanic and owner asked why wasn't the rear gasket changed too? hmmmm. We took it back to DM and they flat denied it and said the new gasket failed and at my cost of another $375, they replaced it. When i got home, i found the rod that holds the hood up, lying on the engine, broken off. So, I called Mike Shinn, the service rep, and he denied it agian. Except that when we took the car up the first time he propped the hood up and walked around the car with us to check it. After confronting him with this, he admitted that the tech did have some "difficulty" with the rod. What? a Bold face lie!!

Robb Topping's poor ethics and morals
I worked with Robb Topping's recently . In that period of time I observed more upset customers than in my 20 years working with customers as a Parts and service manager. Robb dealerships have enough of a bad reputation with out you adding fuel to the fire . This as been on my mind for awhile I have been praying about it and for you Robb . I thought about speaking to Linda or Mr. Maus about what I had seen and observed. Well I hope this sets my mind at ease. Remember Robb it's never to late to except the lord Jesus Christ into your life .

David Maus Toyota Scion - Sanford, FL 32771
My next Toyota will be a Honda and not from David Maus. Maus and his service department or better yet, lack of service department has had three tries to fix what appeared to be a simply repair, "replacement of a rear defogger". The first "try" was no problem found except the rear window maybe dirty, did they clean it, nope, I needed to. Really, so I bought the car back the next morning and showed the service manger, or lack there of that it was not "defogging". Their latest fix / guess was to bring it back next week when the parts arrive, parts did arrive but the the service tech did not, the service manager suggested "well bring it back later this week". I have lost 6 hours of pay and the General Manager's only fix, "we are sorry", in my option yes they are sorry. My suggestion that your next Toyota also be a Honda, Ford, Jeep, etc. Brian McCarthy - brian.sencilo@***.com

David Maus Toyota Dishonesty
I ordered A 2009 Venza with custom options. After waiting 2 months, I was informed that the combination of options that I ordered were not available. However, they did have another car with different options. Nice game. They got the order knowing that it could not be fulfilled and then attemped the switch. Nice try. Then David Maus Toyota would not respond to my requests for refund of $1,000 deposit. My Credit Card Company took care of that saving me time and aggravation in filing a law suit. Take this as words of warning in any dealings with David Maus Toyota.

David Maus won't handle a manufacturer defect
I took my car to David Maus Toyota where I bought my Camry because inside the windows I was getting a moldy/musty smell. They checked inside the doors to make sure there wasn't some kind of blockage and water buildup, which there was not. First they changed the air filter, didn't help. Then they replaced the molding on the driver side front door. The smell went away in that window. They waited a few weeks to make sure it worked, which it did. Then I took it back for them to correct the other windows, but they didn't want to go to that expense. They tried putting the ozone machine inside to see if that would work. They didn't want to go to the expense of changing the molding on the other windows if it wasn't necessary. It didn't work so I took it back a week later. Then they decided that it was my fault because I don't park in a garage. A car is supposed to be outside! The rain shouldn't get inside the doors and mold the molding! I have never heard of anyone ever having this problem with any car. Karen at David Maus said that with all the rain we have had lately that the window jams just haven't had time to dry, so it molds and gets musty. She has had no reports of this happening to anyone else. It is an act of nature. I'm sorry, but if the rubber was not faulty and was placed correctly rain shouldn't be able to get in. They fixed the one window, but refuse to fix the others. This really *** me off! I paid good money for this car, have had it a year and a half and now have to breathe mold spores because they refuse to fix their faulty product. Now the rubber on the trunk is starting to smell moldy too! My husband died a few months ago and I have lost my job and have two young children to support so I can not afford to pay for them to fix their faulty windows. But they just don't care!

Bad Service/Business
If you have any complaints pertaining to bad service/business by David Maus Toyota in Sanford, Florida, I encourage everyone of you to contact the Attorney General's Office first(they need a broad scale of people with legitimate complaints, individuals isn't enough) , Consumer Service then the Better Business Bureau. I paid $4,000 for repairs and my vehicle is currently sitting in my driveway. Not so good huh? David Maus Toyota need to simply right their wrong. Hopefully, if enough of us contact the above Agencies then eventually David Maus Toyota will be held accountable. Beyond Pissed!!! D. Beasley-Knight

$199.99? What the heck we still have prices like that.
It is not 1920 anymore people, get with the program. What about charging $200.00 instead, or $190.00
Man, I hate these *** prices.
I purchased a Toyota Corolla S from David Maus Toyota in Sanford last Monday. I am experiencing the same problem with the rear window.
They replaced the dark tint with a lighter one, and the problem is even worse.
Have you gotten any results from them yet? I am very upset.
